Problem

As product design increasingly demands higher performance with lower material use, conventional modeling workflows struggle to balance structural rigidity with manufacturing efficiency. Components like door hardware need to withstand repeated force and stress, yet are often designed through iterative intuition.

Solution

This project positions door hardware as a testing ground for advanced computational and DFM techniques. By integrating parametric modeling, simulated load conditions, and topology optimization, the support structures are generated directly from force data, removing unnecessary mass while preserving rigidity. An innovative, experimental approach to engineer efficient yet robust hardware systems.
